Radio & Trunking designed and installed the Trunking system used by Dept. of Homeland Security for the islands of St. Thomas, St. Croix, and St. John for their integrated 911 Emergency Dispatch system. The system is used by Police, Fire, Ambulance and other Governmental departments on all 3 islands for First Responders and Emergency’s. The Call Centers in St Thomas and St Croix direct all agency’s for their vital communication needs on a 24/7 basis. The Virgin Islands is in the yearly Hurricane path and a robust trunking system with multiple link paths is critical. Radio & Trunking has provided the US Government with over 50,000 Motorola radios. These radios are being used by Iraq Police and Iraq Army. They are using over 100 Motorola MTR2000 repeaters to support the communication paths. The US government required Secure Communications so Transcrypt International was selected to provide “ 460 level III” encryption modules for all radios destined for Iraq. -

In one of the most desolate environments on earth with temperatures as low as -45°C, Fylde trunking supplied by Radio & Trunking can be found supporting the largest gas production fields in Russia. Advanced features are used to provide the extra-wide area group calls. Line-Connected Dispatchers control and manage emergency situations. Emergency pre-empt and sweep will locate a radio even if it is engaged in another call. E-mail gateways to the radios and graphical statistical reporting of operating performance are provided as standard. Many of the radio sites are at gas well heads. Power comes from the gas extraction itself by a closed-cycle vapour turbo generator system developed for unattended applications. Chevron presented a unique scenario for designing their trunking system. Chevron firstly wanted a proven trunking system with the capability of system wide group calls for their on shore operations and off shore drilling platforms. They also wanted to Link all the sites and platforms with an IP based Microwave system in order to provide end to end instantaneous communications to all employees. Fylde MPT1327 trunking with its Digital processing and Call Routing was exactly what they needed and selected. Total cost for the project was 50% less than the Tetra option they were considering. Today the system is growing in conjunction with Chevron's expansion plans. - 6 Land based radio sites
